HCI CALENDAR OF EVENTS AND/OR ACTIVITIES WE ARE SUPPORTING FOR 2008/2009 SCHOOL YEAR

September
- HCI Board of Directors Meeting – September 4 @ 3:30 p.m.
- Springton Lake Back to School Night for 6 th grade – September 11, need 2-4 volunteers there from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the latest to hand out HCI Flyers and Materials and be a greeter to every parent who comes through the door.
- Glenwood, and Media Elementary Back to School Nights – September 17 , need 2-4 Volunteers at each school as greeters and handing out flyers.
- Glenwood, Indian Lane and Rose Tree Back to School Nights – September 18, same needs as the other Back to School Nights and all starting at 6:30 p.m.
- Optimist Food Booth @ Delaware County Community College – September 21 – Need volunteers for set-up, break-down, serving and cooking food (hot dogs).
- Springton Lake 7 th and 8 th Grade Back to School Night – September 23, need 2-4 Volunteers to greet parents and handout flyers starting at 6:30 p.m.
- Rocky Run YMCA Fall Family Fit Festival – September 27, 12-3 p.m., need volunteers to man booth and P.I.E. Eating contest.
- First Suburbs Project – September 28, attend and learn about the issues in our neighborhoods and what this grass roots organization is trying to do about it at a Policy Level.
- HCI/Junior Optimist Club starts up every Thursday from 2:30 -4:00 p.m.
- Meet with all current Mentors

- P.I.E. Mentor Orientation
- P.I.E. DiSC Workshop for current Mentors and Mentees
- Springton Lake Special Area Back to School Night – October 1, need 2 Volunteers as greeters and handout flyers starting at 6:30 p.m.
- Penncrest Back to School Night – October 2, need 2-4 Volunteers to be greeters and handout flyers starting at 6:30 p.m.
- Opening Ceremonies for the RTMSD ERC from 11:00-12:00.
- HCI Board Meeting
- Presenting at FBLA Conference at Penncrest – October 16
- Launch the HCI Parenting Discussion Series – October 16
- Middletown Township Country Bumpkin Run/Walk – October 19, Need 4 Volunteers to sell P.I.E.s and to collect money for sponsorships to support the Matt Coburn Scholarship Fund. The money from the Pies supports the P.I.E. Scholarship Fund.
- Springton Lake Girls Leadership Program begins in collaboration with the Women’s Resource Center
- HCI Jooi club every Thursday after school, need volunteers to assist Bernadette Dacanay in running this program.
- Hire a Project Coordinator
- Conduct first Community Township Breakfast

- HCI Strategic Planning Retreat for the Board of Directors
- Search Institute’s Annual Conference – November 5-8, Dana is doing a workshop
- HCI/Jooi club continues
- HCI Parenting Discussion Series Continues, Third Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
- HCI Board Meeting
- P.I.E. Mentor Training
- P.I.E. Parent Orientation

- HCI Club continues Thursdays after school

January 2009

- HCI/Junior Optimist Club continues after school on Thursdays
- Parenting Discussion Series continues on the third Thursdays
- Participation in Martin Luther King Day of Service – January 19, I am sure we will need volunteers for this.
- Dance-a-thon fundraiser, need Volunteers who will help plan and implement
- HCI Board Meeting
- Relay for Life Planning begins and HCI will be on the Entertainment Committee and have team again this year, need Volunteers who will represent HCI and do the work needed to contribute to this great cause.
- Conduct 3rd Community Township Breakfast
February
- P.I.E. Mentors and Mentees of new class begin to have their monthly meetings
- HCI/Junior Optimist Club continues after school on Thursdays
- Parenting Discussion Series continues on the third Thursdays
- Relay for Life meetings
- Drumline Event – February 14, will need volunteers to work a display table
- HCI Board Meeting
- Exhibit at Curriculum Night at Penncrest – February 10, will need 2-3 volunteers to work display table for HCI starting at 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

- Middletown Township Pride Day – Saturday, 5/9, Need 4 Volunteers to work display and hope to get some student bands involved.
