Excitement Builds for HCI Town Meeting

The planning is in full throttle for the HCI Town Meeting, set for Wednesday, October 10th, 6pm-9pm at Penncrest High School with a dynamic group of students in grades 8-12 who will be major participants in the program. HCI recruited students to begin the task of reviewing the results of the Search Institute “Profiles of Student Life” Survey, which was administered to RTMSD students in grades 7-12 this past January ’07. The students will research the statistics and outcomes of the survey, identify what assets are strong or weak, what areas need to be enhanced, how to approach this change, plus create an entertaining presentation for the audience.

The recruitment this past week at the high school netted more students than HCI anticipated - indicating there is a strong interest in our young people, to share with their community what is going on in their lives, how they view their world, how they feel the world views them, and what they think can be done to make things better.

Parents, Grandparents, Employers, Police, Politicians, Judges, Healthcare Professionals, Coaches, School Staff and the Press are invited to be with us that evening to witness what may be the most significant event for our community as we look to resolving issues of drugs, alcohol, and risk-taking behaviors of our children. The results of the survey have not been released to the public, so this is your chance to hear it first and from our youth. Be prepared for a unique and powerful program – one not to be missed!

HCI is on the web at www.hci-rtm.org and you may phone us at 610-891-6286 with your questions, concerns, ideas, or offer to help. Thank you~
